A young teenage boy was reported missing by his family last Saturday, the night of his disappearance, according to the Department of Public Safety.

DPS public information officer Thomas A. Blas said the boy, 14-year-old Joseph Felip Benavente of Kagman II, was last seen at the family residence at about 10pm.

“He was last seen wearing a gray tank top shirt and blue jeans,” he said.

Blas indicated that Benavente is about 5’7” tall, weighs about 138 lbs, and is a student at Chacha Junior High School.

Blas said all known locations as well as family members and friends have been checked. The boy has yet to be located.

“No one has seen the victim since the night of his disappearance. The [DPS] and the family are asking for the community’s assistance in locating their missing son,” he said. “If seen, authorities ask that you call 911 immediately and report the [boy’s] location.”

Blas said sightings may also be reported to the Criminal Investigation Bureau at 664-9045. To remain anonymous, call the NMI Crime Stoppers hotline at 234-7272.
