Three of the finest baseball teams from the CNMI will board a plane destined for Guam this morning, as players representing the Junior League, the Senior League, and the Big League begin their quest for the World Series.

Though the competitors have earned the right to represent the islands in the upcoming Asia-Pacific Regional Tournament, the trip to Guam and the uniforms on their backs might not have been a reality if it were not for the generous contributions of many individuals.

President of the Saipan Little League Joe Borja would like to thank Governor Juan N. Babauta, his staff, Speaker of the House Benigno R. Fitial, and President of the Senate Joaquin G. Adriano for providing financial assistance that allowed the teams to make the journey to Guam.

The president also expressed the league’s gratitude toward general manager of Micro Toyota, Douglas A. Brennan, Rick Kautz of Kautz Glass Co., Gilbert Saludez of HPR International, and attorney Brien Ser Nicolas for generously donating the uniforms for the Major, Junior, Senior, and Big Leagues respectively.

The players from all three leagues take their first steps toward winning the Little League World Series this morning when they take to the skies over the Pacific Ocean. Try to make your way down to the airport to cheer them on before they go.
