The fundraising luncheon to assist with the medical expenses of former Gov. Larry I. DeLeon Guerrero today, July 10, at the Hyatt Regency will now feature live music courtesy of the volunteer efforts of Gus Litulumar and the Island Cruisers.

Organizers and volunteers have also donated items for door prizes.

The luncheon is being sponsored by friends and family of the former governor to assist Mrs. Matilde V. DeLeon Guerrero and her children with Guerrero’s medical expenses. Gov. Guerrero has been ill for several years and is receiving medical treatment overseas.

“I know Hyatt Executive Chef Dave Jones and his highly capable staff have put together a really good lunch as an incentive for this fundraising event,” volunteer Antonio V. DeLeon Guerrero said. “We are all just trying to do a little to help the family in honor of Gov. Guerrero’s years of public service to the community,” he added.

One of the key organizers of this humanitarian event is Speaker Benigno Fitial who said, “Larry has been a close personal friend of mine for more than 32 years. He worked to help the residents of the Northern Marianas during his tenure as Governor, Senate President, Constitutional Convention President and Delegate, and pre-Commonwealth Senator. I think Larry deserves a little help from his friends.”

The luncheon will be held from 11am to 2pm today, July 10, at Giovanni’s and the Kili Terrace at the Hyatt Regency Saipan and will feature an international menu.

Tickets are available for $50 from any of the following volunteers: Christie N. Kintol (287-2761), Margarita “Doll” G. Camacho (236-0365), and Diane R. Domingo or Marissa Muna (288-3980) and will be available at the door.
