Saipancell launches next-gen cellphones and services

Saipancell Communications recently announced that it is the first wireless company on the island to launch the next generation of wireless services. Often referred to as 3G, CDMA 1X technology, it provides up to twice the capacity of earlier wireless CDMA systems helping to accommodate the continuing growth of voice services as well as new wireless Internet services.
Customers can now download audio and multi-media content over-the-air, including ringtones, wallpaper and games. The company’s new CDMA 1X services have been branded and launched as FX. Some of the new FX services are Push To Talk, Picture Messaging, Wireless Internet, Web Browsing, Txt FX Games, and Mobile Chat.
“Our new FX service allows our customers to enjoy all of the features of their phones—play games, transmit digital photos, access email, enjoy push-to-talk services and surf the web on a wide range of really cool handsets,” according to Kevin Seeker, director of marketing.
Two of the coolest handsets on the market are the Treo 600 and Audiovox Thera smartphones. Both are full-featured wireless phones with email, text messaging, personal organizer and Web browser capabilities. The Treo 600 even comes complete with a built-in digital camera. Both smartphones synchronize to your office PC so everything you do when you are out of the office is updated and ready when you get back to your desk.
To enjoy the full benefits of Saipancell’s next generation of wireless services customers will need a CDMA 1X phone. Current 1X phones that Saipancell offers are Kyocera Slider, Motorola V60p, LG 5450, LG VX600, Nokia 3896, Motorola T731, Toshiba CDM 9500, Kyocera 3225, Kyocera 7135 Smartphone, Motorola C343, Nokia 3580 and Kyocera Blade. According to the company, customers who do not have a 1X phone will still be able to enjoy many of the text based games and services.
“There’s a whole new world inside your phone: news, games, stocks, travel, entertainment, music, love, inspiration, and more. And, it doesn’t get much cooler than FX,” Seeker said.
