Brushes + blue paint = NMC’s Painting Party
The Northern Marianas College Student Center will be providing a number of activities for students to enjoy while pursuing their education at the college.
The center started things off with the annual Painting Party, coordinated through the Associated Students of NMC, which aimed to have the center repainted through the help of student volunteers. The event, held early Sunday morning, brought in several members of the Micronesian Club and the Volunteers Club.
Some 20 students gathered with brushes on one hand and cans of blue paint on the other to give a new look to the place that they would call “home” in the next few months.
A list of activities has already been lined up for the week, with student involvement opportunities and special guest sessions on topics concerning today’s young adults.
Monday is Music Day and PlayStation Day for the students. Students are welcome to bring their favorite CDs to play. Several PlayStation games will be provided for their entertainment.
On Tuesday, students could take off an hour or two to watch the featured movie chosen for the week. Billiards Tournament takes over on Wednesday, with some of NMC’s best hustlers challenging the new and old players in the weekly billiard tourney.
The center will also have on hand Lynn Corella to discuss eating disorders. All interested individuals are urged to attend the Health and Wellness session on Sept. 24, following the Billiard Tournament on Sept. 13-17. (Cassie DLG Fejeran)
