Former Rota Rep. Daniel Quitugua has been charged at the Superior Court for alleged failure to submit his detailed financial campaign statement of account early this year.

Deputy Attorney General Clyde Lemons Jr. said in a court information that Quitugua, who sought reelection but lost in the 2003 midterm elections, “unlawfully failed to file his detailed financial campaign statement of account” with the Office of the Public Auditor by Jan. 6, 2004.

Quitugua is asked to appear in court on Sept. 27 at 9am in connection with the case. Failure to appear on that day would result in the issuance of a warrant for his arrest.

Quitugua is currently the resident labor director on Rota, a position given him after his electoral defeat.

Quitugua had served two years in the House of Representatives.
