The Women’s Affairs Office and the Saipan Walking Association Inc. will be hosting the 3rd Annual Family Fitness Fair at the Minachom Atdao pavilion in Susupe today from 6am-2pm.

According to Myrna Quitugua, 2004 family fitness fair chair, the committee invited organizations and private and government agencies to participate in the event, which is expected to benefit the community.

“We envision the fair as a lively, educational, and fun fitness and interactive event that will draw and provide families with information and opportunities to conduct healthy lifestyles,” she said.

The Family Fitness Fair will begin with a walkathon led by the Saipan Walking Association Inc. at 7am, from the pavilion to the Quartermaster Road and back.

The Heart of the Marianas, Marianas Visitors Authority, Women’s Affairs Office, Department of Community and Cultural Affairs, and the Department of Public Health are among government and private agencies that are collectively conducting the fitness fair.

The fair would feature five and 10-kilometer walks, health screening, live entertainment, exhibits, and games in hopes of strengthening family ties and relationships. The event is also intended to educate women on various family issues, including how to raise a healthy and active family. (Cassie DLG Fejeran)
