OML dominates special awards

OML topped two special awards and was runner-up in the two others in the recently concluded 14th season of the Philippine Bowling Association Friday Night League at the Capital Bowling Center in Garapan.

OML won the high game scratch category coming up with 994 total pins to eclipse by 30 the 963 rolled by second place Philippine Consulate General. OML took home $40 for the win, while Philippine Consulate settled for the $30 runner-up purse,

The high series scratch category also belonged to OML, as the team rolled a 2,783 to beat out El Kapitan, which managed just a 2,734. OML earned $45 for the victory with El Kapitan took home $35.

High game with handicap was the domain of the Outlaws, as they accumulated 1,128 pinfalls to win the $40 first-place prize, OML settled for second with its 1,115 and got $30.

Outlaws again outdueled OML in the high series with handicap knocking down 3,213 pins to OML’s 3,146. Outlaws and OML received $45 and $35, respectively.

The OML team is made up of Wellington Ang, Richard Leong, Art Macaspac, Edgar Marquez, Milo Orallo, Manolo Reyes, Roger Vales, and Robert Perez.

The PBA Friday Night League finished its latest season last Sept. 24 with the Philippine Consulate team winning the top honors followed by Star Air Freight Micronesia, and El Kapitan.

The big winners in the individual awards were Leong of OML and Ron Cal of Star Air Freight Micronesia, who won the men’s and women’s high average, respectively. Jorge Soledad of Verizon and Efren Puse of Star Air Freight Micronesia split the other major awards for the men, while Cora Muna of Outlaws dominated the awards for the women. John Rimirch and Em Solis were also named most improved bowlers of the past season.
