Thursday nights belongs to Pacific Home Appliances
Pacific Home Appliances needed to win a five-game roll-off against Multi-Line Supply to capture the championship of 16th season of the Thursday Night League last month at the Capitol Bowling Center.
Pacific Home defeated Multi-Line, 3-1, in the roll-off held Dec. 16, 2004 to hoist the title of the CBC and Philippine Bowling Association-organized tenpin competition. Both teams finished the regular season with identical 62-34 win-loss records.
Bowlers that played for Pacific Home were Ruben Avendano, Pail Bea, Malou Cabigao, Ron Cal, Jun Canillo, Efren Puse, Jun Villalas, Gigi Zapanta, Orly Ebuen, and Joe Velarde. The 10 bowlers split the $600 first place winnings.
Multi-Line earned $350 for their runner-up finish. Players that bowled for them were Wellington Ang, Carlos Ballesteros, Arnel Del Rosario, Raul Dumapit, Richard Leong, Robert Perez, Roger Vales, Alex Uy, Katty Uy, and Libby Cayabyab.
Century Insurance, Verizon, and Keep the Faith cornered the third, fourth, and fifth places. Century Insurance came away with a 56-40 slate after the season, while Verizon and Keep the Faith wound up with identical 54-42 win-loss marks. Verizon then edged Keep the Faith in a simple tiebreak.
Players for Century Insurance were Ador Dimaano, Roman Mamauag, Jerry Tan, Ernie Villarin, Ross Zapanta, Ruselle Zapanta, and Raymond Zapanta.
Verizon bowlers included Ramon Angeles, Tony David, Richie Dumlao, Lynell Fulgencio, Edgar Marquez, Jorge Soledad, John Rimirch, and Raymond Angeles.
Keep the Faith, meanwhile, was made up of Angel Deliva, Jerry Hibi, Dennis Pacheco, Everly Pangelinan, Lorie Pangelinan, Cris Balolong, Marlyn Meneses, and Ruben Hubbart.
Century Insurance took home $250 for finishing third, while Verizon and Keep the Faith won $150 and $100, respectively.
The rest of the entries in the 16-team league, with their team standings in parenthesis, were as follows: Eyun Ji Corp. (50.5-45.5); Microl Corp. (50.5-45.5); PIA Team (49.5-46.5); Micronesian Brokers, Inc. (44-52); SDM (43.5-52.5); Inmayts (43.5-52.5); Wuzz Up (43-53); Locals II (40-56); Philippine Eagle Corp. (40-56); DFS (35.5-60.5); and Outlaws (35-61).
The PBA holds a number of tenpin bowling leagues during the course of the week. Its officers are president Jess Rebusada, vice president Milo Orallo, secretary Rene Cabigao, treasurer Ross Zapanta, and auditor Bert Travilla.
