Fil-Taga Aces of Aces begin today

Twenty-four players will slug it out in two rounds of golf for the Fil-Taga Golfers Association 2004 Ace of Ace Tournament beginning today at the Marianas Country Club.

According to tournament director Ted Malaran, qualifiers for first day of the season-ending competition are required to be at the venue before the 11am showtime. Tee-off-time is scheduled 30 minutes later at 11:30am.

The next day, Sunday, the qualifiers will be joined by the rest of the club’s membership for the second day of the competition, which will also serve as the January Ace of the Month Tournament.

Qualifiers and members alike will be required to be ready for the greens and fairways, this time, of the Kingfisher Golf Links beginning at the 11:15am showtime. Tee-off time is scheduled 30 minutes later at 11:45am.

Established in 1993, Fil-Taga’s tournaments operate under a computer-controlled handicap system that creates parity among players in the A and B Flights.

A Fil-Taga Ace of the Month champion is crowned monthly. Regular tournaments are scheduled once a month, normally every third Sunday. Green fees are in the $35 to $40 price range for most tournaments.
