‘NMHC, housing task force are separate’
The Northern Marianas Housing Corp. clarified yesterday that the Housing Task Force established by Gov. Juan N. Babauta to spearhead the Plumeria Estates, and the NMHC board of directors are two distinct entities.
The board made the clarification in a statement issued yesterday in efforts to put on the record that the role of NMHC in relation to the Plumeria Estates project is limited to prequalifying first-time homeowners who are interested in purchasing homes at the new subdivision.
NMHC will also be working with participating lenders in the Commonwealth to purchase the loans from NMHC.
The Plumeria Estates project is a turnkey project that will provide 128 newly-constructed homes in Koblerville with two-, three-, and four-bedroom homes complete with amenities and infrastructure (water, power, paved roads, sewer).
The NMHC board said that it fully supports this project as it will increase homeownership and benefit first-time homeowners and their families in achieving their dream of owning their homes.
“NMHC would like to encourage interested individuals to come in and apply to purchase a house at the Plumeria Estates project. Deadline for acceptance of loan applications has been extended till further notice,” the statement adds.
