The Marianas High School MY WAVE tourism club recently held a beach cleanup from the Sugar Dock area to the Chalan Kanoa beach site.

The beach cleanup started at 7am and lasted until 11am.

Along the beach were several piles of debris and party leftovers. During the beach cleanup the club was able to fill about 12 garbage bags with cans, cigarette butts, paper plates and more garbage.

Along with picking up trash, the club also planted trees along the side of the beach.

The Marianas High School MY WAVE tourism club performs other various community service projects. They are asking for help from the community to defray the cost of expenses for their educational trip to Hong Kong.

“We are hoping to raise funds for our trip to Hong Kong and to further the success of the club,” Sherriann Songsong, the MHS MY WAVE president, said.

For more information on how to donate, call Tim Faska at 287-7550.
