SKN picked up its third win in four games and are now on top of the World Organized Rocball team standings after beating Bwibwi, 44-30, yesterday afternoon at the Marianas High School Green Court.

SKN’s Dior Jones emerged as the game’s heavy hitter, connecting for three aces and a kee for eight points to lead his squad to victory, while Ireksin Made and Danny Peter supported him with six points apiece, with Made contributing an ace and two kees and Peter three kees.

SKN, however, had to work themselves out of a small deficit after losing the first set.

Coming off their lopsided victory over Ochobu the day before, Bwibwi kept their momentum swinging and took the set, 12-9, despite failing to convert on several first- serve opportunities. The set also featured a goal scored by Bwibwi’s Darrel Roligat and SKN’s JJ Maliti.

SKN would come back stronger in the second set and turned their three-point deficit into an eight-point lead after blowing out Bwibwi, 12-1, in the second set.

The two teams would match up well again in the third set, however, SKN managed to slip past their opponents courtesy of a couple of kees, 12-9, to up their overall lead to 11 points, 33-22.

Bwibwi wasn’t about to go down without a fight though and tried to force o-kon with a solid effort in the fourth set.

Peter Iginoef smacked a couple of aces and a xunk in hopes of bringing life back to his team, but it wasn’t enough to spark a comeback as SKN still closed the match by juicing out, 11-8.

Darrel Moteisou led Bwibwi with seven points on two aces and a goal, while Iginoef chipped in with six points on two aces and a xunk.

With the loss, Bwibwi are now tied with Ochobu with identical 2-2 win-loss records, while Mwaliyas round up the cast with a 1-3 card.

Rocball action resumes tomorrow at the Green Court, as Mwaliyas take on Bwibwi at 12:30pm.

Meanwhile, Peter currently leads the league with nine kees and is followed by Made, who has seven kees in his name.

Other leaders include Donald Tagabuel of Mwaliyas with seven aces and teammate Joey Pangelinan and Bwibwi’s ShaneYamada with six apiece.

Ochobu’s Dean Mathew and Graceful Fiden are currently on top of the xunk department with two apiece, while Pedro Iguel of Mwaliyas and Darrel Moteisou of Bwibwi’s have two goals each to lead that department.
