MMAC CAPTAINS’ MEETING TODAY

The 2005 Marianas March Against Cancer Committee is calling for a meeting among all team captains today, March 16, 2005, at the Pacific Islands Club’s Seaside Restaurant.

The March Against Cancer event will take place later in May.

The MMAC Committee is asking individuals, organizations, schools, and businesses to become a part of this year’s March Against Cancer by forming a team and participating in this important event. All team captains and other interested individuals are asked to attend the team captain meeting to learn more about the event.

The Marianas March Against Cancer event is the Commonwealth’s largest fundraiser in the fight against cancer. Groups wanting to register their team or anyone needing more information may email Reyna Hudson at jianhudson@hotmail.com.

PAWS MEMBERSHIP MEETING TODAY

The Pet Assistance & Welfare Services, or PAWS, will be holding its annual general membership meeting today, March 16, 2005, at 11:30am in Giovanni’s at the Hyatt Regency Saipan.

Dr. Ignacia Dela Cruz of the Department of Lands and Natural Resources will be the keynote speaker. The group will also hear from local veterinarian Ed Tudor, DVM.

Lunch is $15 per person and will include the antipasto buffet with pasta dishes, bread, dessert and iced tea to drink.

New or renewal memberships will be available at this time with a suggested membership donation of $30 annually. For more information, contact Bobbi Grizzard at 322-9464.

CHUUK RUN-OFF ELECTION SET

To all Chuukese eligible voters in the CNMI, there will be a run-off election between the top candidates for governorship on April 5, 2005, 7am–5pm. Call your regional leaders for more information.

PAG-IBIG TO STOP ACCEPTING PAYMENTS

This is to inform all Pag-IBIG members that the Pagi-IBIG Overseas Program (POP) office will no longer accept payments for membership contributions and housing loan amortization. Payments for such should coursed through accredited remittance centers in the CNMI.

MEMORIAL DAY MEETING SET

The CNMI will be paying tribute to departed members of the U.S. Armed Forces on Memorial Day. May 30, 2005.

We would like to remind all concerns and interested individuals or association that the Memorial Day Committee meeting will be at the Office of the Military/Veterans Affairs, Capital Hill, building #1364, every Tuesday at 9am. First meeting will start on March 22, 2005. All are welcome.
