FSM Red Cross to get computer equipment
The American Red Cross International Services Department—through the Northern Mariana Islands Chapter—has made a substantial donation to the Micronesian Red Cross Society.
With the help of the local NMI Chapter and critical financial support from the Bank of Hawaii and Continental Airlines, the Micronesian Red Cross Society for the Federated States of Micronesia, based in Pohnpei, will soon be receiving state-of-the-art computer and projection equipment.
The shipment includes 4-Dell Optiplex P4/3GHz desktop systems, four 17” flat screen monitors, one laptop, one projector, two printers, as well as various cables and networking equipment.
“These items will help lay the foundation for building a national Red Cross Society that can better serve the residents of the Federated States” said John Hirsh, executive director of the NMI Chapter. “We are proud to be working with Bank of Hawaii and Continental on this project. Both companies have a long history of helping those in need throughout the Pacific.”
The American Red Cross International Services continues to support the development and sustainability of Red Cross National Societies in the Northwest Pacific and around the world.
