The Northern Mariana Islands Tennis Association has moved the drawing of its 2005 South Pacific Mini Games fundraising raffle to July 16 from its original date of June 11, this coming Saturday.

NMITA president Eli Buenaventura said the postponement of the raffle drawing would allow the association to generate more funds to support the CNMI National Tennis Team to the upcoming Mini Games set for July and August in Palau.

Named to the CNMI National Tennis Team are playing coach Jeff Race, Todd Montgomery, Daniel Son, Tim Quan, Ralph Buenaventura (alternate), Kana Aikawa, and Amanda Weindl.

Of the seven, only Montgomery, Race, and Aikawa are returnees from the team that competed in the 2003 Suva South Pacific Games.

The other members of the Fiji team were Jung Mun Chung and Peter Sinclair. Chung begged off from the 2005 Mini Games team because of college, while Sinclair has relocated to Australia.
