Police said yesterday it received no report about a Saipan traffic accident that resulted in serious injuries to a 15-month-old boy Friday.

Department of Public Safety spokesman Eric David said he is trying to obtain details regarding the incident, which was reported by the U.S. military’s public affairs office.

A military-issued article said a U.S. military aircrew stationed in Kadena, Japan, received a call for assistance for an aeromedical evacuation mission.

Within three hours of notification, a KC-135 Stratotanker took off for Saipan in the Northern Mariana Islands to pick up the child and deliver him to a medical center in Hawaii.

Reports have it that the boy, whose identity was not disclosed, had been run over, resulting injuries to part of his shoulders and head. The aircrew then flew to a Hawaii hospital, where the boy was admitted in serious but stable condition.
