Post 3457 takes pride in doing it right
The Veterans of Foreign Wars Saipan Post 3457 won several prestigious awards at the Department of the Pacific Convention held in Angeles City, the Philippines, in June this year.
The awards include the Pacific Area’s Outstanding Post award; the VFW Saipan Post 3457 was also named an All-State Post.
Jerry Kraus of Oleai Beach Bar was named the Outstanding Adjutant and John H. Davis Jr., a teacher at Hopwood Jr. High School, was named Outstanding Post Commander.
The post was also recognized at the convention for its community assistance efforts, Military Assistance Programs and membership recruitment.
In addition, the post has achieved yet another honor and will named an All-American Post at the National Convention in Salt Lake City next month.
The Pacific Area has 29 posts in eight countries and territories, including Thailand, Taiwan, the Philippines, Okinawa, Guam, Korea, Japan and the CMNI.
The members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Saipan Post 3457 have much to be proud of.
The Post hosted last year a VFW Department of Pacific Area Convention in conjunction with the 60th anniversary of the Battle of Saipan—which is still being talked about in the Pacific area.
Later, Leslie Cabrera won the Pacific Area Voice of Democracy Oral essay and successfully represented the CMNI at the National Conference in Washington DC. (PR)
