A successful life doesn’t just happen; it happens because one plans a set of goals and makes it happen.

This, among other gems, was stressed by author and management consultant Peter Eche during a two-day self and professional development seminar held for about a hundred Workforce Investment Agency interns last week.

Eche shared with the interns the characteristics and traits one must cultivate to achieve the ultimate success in life. He said that, in order for them to attain their goals, they must have the passion in what they do and want to accomplish in their lives. They also must have the right beliefs in themselves, with their own capacity to succeed. Strategies and clarity of values must also be recognized, said Eche.

They should always have the energy to perform their assigned tasks or to finish their work. Bonding and mastery of communication are also significant in achieving their goals, said Eche.

“With WIA, we are trying to change and motivate the youths for them to be able to achieve success in their lives,” said Eche.

He hopes that the two-day seminar enabled the participants to set goals that would lead them to their “pathway of success.”

Eche also talked about organization etiquette that would guide them on what to do and when to make a positive and powerful first impression, among others.

The seminar was held July 21-22 at the Sand Castle, Hyatt Regency Saipan. The interns completed on July 22 their six-week internship program among several government offices and private businesses.

Eche has spent seven years giving seminars to the youth worldwide. He has a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Pharmacy and a doctorate degree in Management. He has written a book, The Young Shall Grow, and he is currently working on a book called Evolution of Success. Eche is also the current executive vice president and chief operating officer of the John F. Kennedy Center and president of World Pacific Consultancy.

He is set to fly to different parts of Africa to provide several workshops and seminars to the youths there.
