Verizon launches ‘BREW, Get It Now!’

Download cool games, wallpapers, and ringtones on your phone with BREW Get It Now!, Verizon’s latest cellular program. BREW, also referred to as Binary Runtime Environment for Wireless, offers lots of great programs that make your cellular experience much more enjoyable!

With BREW, you can access your very own ringtones. Download your favorite songs any time of the day and at any given location. There are hundreds of songs to choose from and they range anywhere from R & B and pop, to hard rock and even country music. Aside from songs, you can also download movie flixes for fun.

“A lot of customers have expressed that they would like to find a convenient way of downloading ringtones to their phones so we are glad to offer this product to our customers,” said Hans Mickelson, Verizon’s product manager, adding that this application is quick and easy to use, with many titles to choose from.

Another great feature about BREW Get It Now! is that you can select games such as Tetris, Wheel of Fortune, Mission Impossible, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, and much more. Get the latest games with just a few clicks on your cell phone.

“Why settle for those pre-installed games that are already in your unit? Instead, you have the option to choose the most current games you actually want,” Mickelson said.

You also have access to cool pictures or wallpapers for your cell phone. You can choose a photo of your favorite actor or you can select a tropical scenery. The options are endless. Moreover, the different sites are updated on a regular basis to give you greater selection.

What makes BREW Get It Now! so attractive to try out is that there is no sign up fee. This allows Verizon customers to test the various programs and see if this is an application that can fit into their lifestyle.

Aside from no sign up fees, there are also no reoccurring monthly charges that you have to worry about. This means that you will not receive a bill each month just for having the program installed into your cell phone.

If you have an existing CDMA BREW enabled phone and would like to have access to the various applications, you must bring in your postpaid unit to the Verizon Customers Service on Middle Road. The phones that can have BREW Get It Now! are the Kyocera (Slider) SE-47, Kyocera (Koi) KX2, Motorola T720, Motorola V265, Motorola V710, LG VX 4400, LG VX 5450, LG VX 6000, or the LG VX 6100.

Although there are no sign up fees and no reoccurring monthly charges, there are application costs involved. These costs depend on the content and the pricing option that you choose. For instance, if you would like to browse ringtones, it depends on the number of songs that you download to your phone. You will also incur a 10-cent per minute airtime charge to download the application, which is not included in your cellular plan. However, as soon as the program is installed into your phone, you will no longer be billed for the same application unless the application requires online updating or if you decide to remove the program and then install it again in the future.

In order to download an application, there are easy steps to follow. First, you go to Get It Now! on you your mobile phone, which is generally the fifth icon on your main menu. Next, select the shopping cart icon and then choose the application catalog that you want such as ringtones, fun and games, information, wallpapers and photos. As soon as you find the application that you want, you must then select the pricing option that best suits you. You can then buy the option that you want and then confirm the download. Once the application is downloaded, you can use it immediately or you may access it directly from the device menu.
