MHS SCHOOL OPENING ACTIVITIES

The first day of classes for all students at Marianas High School students is today, Aug. 3. Homeroom will begin at 8am sharp. This year’s revised bell schedule is as follows:

7:15-7:45: Breakfast
8:00-8:15: Homeroom
8:20-9:40: 1st Period
9:40-9:50: Break
9:55-11:15: 2nd Period
11:15-12:00: Lunch
12:05-1:25: 3rd Period
1:25-1:35: Break
1:40-3:00: 4th Period
3:00: Class Dismissal

HAPPENINGS AT HOPWOOD

Aug. 3: School begins. Teachers will send home letters indicating what school supplies to purchase. Students will receive their school handbooks.

Aug. 8: Finalized class schedules will be distributed to students.

Aug. 11: First PTSA meeting will be distributed to students. Present an overview of our language arts program.

Aug. 20: School Leadership, PTSA, and Parent Council Seminar at PIC, 8am-4pm. Participants will be contacted with more information.

GES’ 1ST DAY OF SCHOOL SET

Garapan Elementary School welcomes all teachers, parents and K-6 students to the school’s first day of school on Aug. 3, 2005, from 7:30am to 2:20pm

Open House will be on Aug. 4, 2005 at 6pm in the school cafeteria.

The Parents Teachers Association meeting will be on Aug. 25, 2005 at 6pm, also in the school cafeteria.

GCA OPEN HOUSE SET

Grace Christian Academy is informing all GCA parents and students that the Open House is scheduled on Friday, Aug. 5, 2005, at 6pm to 8pm. Classes start on Monday, Aug. 8, 2005. For more information, call 322-3320.

TINIAN CLASS OPENING SCHEDULE

The Tinian Junior/Senior High School will begin classes for school year 2005-2006 on Aug. 8, 2005.

Parents who have not registered their children are advised to go to the main office during regular working hours, 7:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday to do so.

SISTER REMEDIOS SCHOOL SCHEDULE

The Sister Remedios Early Childhood Development Center announces to all interested parents that registration for the School Year 2005-2006 is open and ongoing.

The first day of school is:

Aug. 16 for the Kindergarten;

Aug. 17 for the Pre-Kindergarten (4 years old)

Aug. 18 for the Nursery (3 years old)

HEAD START ENROLLMENT ONGOING

The Head Start Program is still open for registration at the following Head Start sites: Chalan Kanoa and Tanapag.

Bring the following required documents:

– Child’s birth certificate
– Social Security card
– Parent’s/guardian’s income verification (check stubs)
– Medical insurance, if any
– Hospital card
– Entry permit/passport (for nonresidents)
– IEP/IFSP, where applicable

KAGES REMINDERS TO STUDENTS, PARENTS

To all parents/guardian and students of Kagman Elementary School:

Aug. 3: First day of school for all Kagman Elementary Students, 7:30am to 2:15pm for grades 1-5.

Kindergarten morning classes will be from 7:30am to 10:30am. Kindergarten afternoon classes will be from 11:30am to 2:15pm.

Please remember that students are not allowed on campus before 7am. During school days, all students are to be picked up at 2:15pm. Question? Call 664-3911/12.

3RD KANTAN ISLA SET TO TAKE OFF

The Chamorro/Carolinian Language Policy Commission said that the 3rd Annual Kantan Isla Concert would take place on the island of Rota from Sept. 30 to Oct 2, 2005.

“We would like to inform the local artist(s) that registration is now open and we are extending an invitation for your participation in this important event,” the commission said.

Deadline for submission is Aug. 30, 2005, no later than 4:30pm.
