DoD awards school contract to Dick Pacific

SANTA RITA, Guam—The Department of Defense has awarded Dick Pacific Construction Co. Ltd. a contract to construct a new Guam High School as well as a new Commander William C. McCool Elementary/Middle School.

Guam High will be constructed within the U.S. Naval Hospital Guam compound, while McCool will be constructed near Lockwood Housing on Naval Base Guam.

Under the firm-fixed-price contract, Dick Pacific is funded $29.19 million to design and construct the high school with a pre-priced option to design and construct the elementary-middle school for an additional $38,394,118, which may be exercised within 180 calendar days.

The high school is expected to be completed by May 2007 and the elementary/middle school is scheduled to be completed the following year, ready for opening day of school.

Guam High and McCool are part of the Department of Defense Education Activity Guam. (PR)
