Ochobu is close to earning its first win in the 2005 World Organized Rocball High School League.

Unless Just For Fun wins today’s fourth set, Ochobu will level its win-loss record at 1-1 as it leads the bout, 49-31, after taking the first three sets.

Ochobu started out like a house on fire, dominating the first set to grab the early advantage. Two kees by Kawes Awes and an ace by Anip Tisa spearheaded a 9-0 run to start their campaign.

Just For Fun managed to break the scoring streak and even got a goal from Dennis Camacho to up their score to four, but Ochobu had the last laugh in the set and won, 16-8.

Just For Fun had a better start to the second set and were neck and neck with their counterparts before faltering. The two teams were tied at 10-10 when Ochobu managed to connect for clutch hits to close with a 6-0 run for a 16-10 victory.

Ochobu was on a roll and took a 4-0 lead in the third set before Just For Fun’s Joseph Pangelinan came through with a goal. Ochobu made a bad pass in an attempt to set up a kill and Pangelinan was waiting at the net. He leaped and connected for a kill just as the ball crossed over Just For Fun’s court. Ochobu was caught off guard and the ball even bounced a couple of times before entering the goal, 3-4.

Just For Fun capitalized on the shot and took the lead, but Ochobu retaliated and moved within a set of claiming their first win with a 17-13 victory.

Just For Fun must win the fourth set to force o-kon. If they put up a successful push, they must win two overtime sets to pull off the comeback win. If o-kon is played, Ochobu only has to win one set. An o-kon set is won by the first team to reach 10 points or by a team connecting for a goal.
