Just when the dusk fell Thursday, an allegedly drunk man reportedly assaulted another man who showed initiative in directing the traffic flow at the Garapan Fishing Base along Beach Road.

The police said the 51-year-old victim reported to the Central Police Station that a man suddenly came up to him and punched him several times while he was trying to help ease the traffic flow along the Beach Road in front of the Kristo Rai Church. The police did not disclose the victim’s identity.

The suspect, a certain Frenchip Peter, was arrested immediately, according to Department of Public Safety spokesperson Catherine Sheu. The victim told the police that the suspect also threw an empty can of beer at him.

Sheu said the suspect was immediately arrested for disturbing the peace, assault and battery, and assault with a dangerous weapon. She said the suspect was immediately sent to the Department of Corrections. (Marconi Calindas)
