B-n-S enters today’s continuation of their 2005 World Organized Rocball High School League match with their backs against the wall as they trail Ochobu after three sets of play yesterday at the Marianas High School Gymnasium.

Ochobu, which sports a 1-1 win-loss card, led 40-29 when action was halted as time expired.

Determined to hand B-n-S its first loss of the season, Ochobu came out storming and dominated the first set. Despite having two points subtracted from their score midway through due to a xunk by B-n-S, the Ochobu smackers still had momentum in their corner and strolled away for a 16-7 win.

B-n-S retaliated with a stronger charge in the second set as Charles Mesik connected for a goal to highlight a 15-8 victory, which cut the deficit to just two points, 22-24.

B-n-S, however, was not able to maintain momentum and hit a brick wall in the third set as Ochobu recovered from their pedestrian second set with an explosion that lifted them to the win, 16-7.

Ochobu is in good shape entering the final set of regulation with the 11-point breathing room, which means B-n-S must win the set to keep their chances alive and force o-kon.

If the game heads into overtime, Ochobu still has the advantage as the team only needs to win one set while B-n-S must take both o-kon sets to keep pace with league-leader and defending champion Mwaliyas, which hold a 3-0 record.

So far, a total of four aces, four xunks, 10 kees, and a goal have been recorded in the game.

Ochobu’s David Tisa leads his team with eight points courtesy of an ace, a xunk, and two kees, while Ichnis Kapwich has three kees for six points.

Myron Laniyo leads B-n-S with two aces and two kees for eight points while Lori Taisacan has four points on an ace and a xunk.

The bout is the final match of the third round, with the fourth round scheduled to begin tomorrow at 11:30am featuring Black Magic and Lagooners. Both teams sit with 2-1 records.
