The road to the 2005 Budweiser Cup BANMI Men’s Island-wide Basketball League championship will be become clearer tonight as two teams will be cut from further competition.

Two games will be played tonight, with the winners advancing and the losers saying goodbye in the single-elimination playoffs at the Gilbert C. Ada Gymnasium.

Two-time defending champion Bud Light-Toyota Tundra battles sixth-seed Bacardi-Golden Oldies at 7pm, with the winner getting a one-way ticket to the championship series.

The second game features No. 2 Bud ice-SaipanCell Hoopaholics against No. 5 Michelob-Master Construction Torque.

Capping off the first round of the playoffs is No. 3 MARPAC-Nissan Titans and No. 4 O’Douls-Ol’Aces as they battle on Wednesday at 7pm.

The winner of the two bouts will then battle for the final entry to the best-of-three championship series, which will begin next Monday.
