Friends of the Arts Christmas Gala on Dec. 7
Friends of the Arts and Saipan Pacific Winds Concert Band is inviting the public to attend its annual Christmas Gala on Wednesday, Dec. 7, at the Pacific Islands Club’s Charley’s Cabaret.
The show is expected to ring in the holiday season with a lively evening of entertainment that is sure to delight the entire family. Tickets are only $5 for adults and $3 for children. Doors will open at 6:30pm. Early birds will be treated to lovely instrumentals performed by the Saipan Southern High School Advanced Band and the Pacific Winds Brass Ensemble.
The main event, beginning at 7pm, opens with a concert by Pacific Winds that features joyous music of the season. A tribute to our veterans in remembrance of Pearl Harbor Day also will be featured. Special arrangements performed by the Brass Ensemble will allow all to enjoy a final performance by long-time dentist-in-residence Dr. Richard Ludders, who bids farewell to Saipan the next day.
The program continues with a caroling sing-along with the audience, followed by those wacky Friends of the Arts Players, who threaten to split your sides with their antics. And no Christmas program would be complete without a visit from Santa Claus.
The Pacific Islands Club once again is co-sponsoring this event and has offered several specials for the evening. Audience members who wish to dine at the Magellan Room before or after the show may do so for a reduced rate of $20, just by showing their Christmas show ticket. In Charley’s, those who have already dined may enjoy a dessert buffet for only $5. A cash bar also will be available.
This year’s show is a particularly special event as 2005 marks the 25th anniversary of Community Theatre in the CNMI. So come help us celebrate. To reserve your tickets, contact Melody Actouka at 235-1320 or melodya@nmcnet.edu, or see Friends of the Arts board or Pacific Winds band members. (PR)
