The Sabalu Farmers Market Association donated a check worth $100 to the Commonwealth Health Center Volunteers group Monday afternoon.

Association treasurer Isidoro T. Cabrera led the donation at the CHC Volunteer shop. CHC Volunteers president Kim Prinz and officers Rita Tenorio and Amparo Tenorio accepted the donation. Prinz said the money the group donated would go to the purchase of materials in relation to programs of the CNMI Diabetes Prevention program.

Rita Tenorio said the group appreciates the generosity of the Sabalu Farmers Association. She said hopefully other groups or organization would also do the same because what they contribute all goes to the hospital especially benefiting the needy patients.

Cabrera said the Saturday market gets contributions from the members and vendors that sell their agricultural products every week.

He said every year the group manages to collect some funds and donate to groups that help the CNMI community. He said in behalf of the farmers’ association officers Chris Guerrero, Roman Camacho, and J.M. Guerrero, the group thanked their CHC Volunteers group for the continuous effort in lifting the spirits of hospital patients by providing them with materials and equipment for a more comfortable recuperation time.
