While strikers and slicers across the CNMI are evaluated and placed in flights that correspond with their scorecards when they enter local tournaments throughout the year, it will be of little consequence as they will have to rely on their talents alone when they venture to the bay.

Two weeks from now, the Laolao Bay Golf Resort will be hosting a Two-Man Best Ball competition on Saturday, Jan.14, 2006. This time around the gross score is the only score as the handicaps will not be deducted.

According to tournament coordinator Jess Wabol, the competition will favor the single handicappers, and all players are required to find their own partners.

“If someone is a 20 handicapper, they are going to have to ply with someone who is a nine or lower,” he said.

The registration fee for the competition is $100 per player or $200 per team. Registration begins at 11am the day of the event and tee times are promptly at noon.
