The hours to sell and serve alcoholic beverages are being extended until 4am on Jan. 1, 2006, according to the Department of Commerce.

In a special notice issued yesterday, Commerce Secretary Andrew Salas said these extended hours are only for the evening of Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, until 4am on Sunday, Jan. 1, 2006.

The extension is being granted in accordance with 4 CMC, Section 5556 and applies to all Class-3 On-Sale establishment operators (licensees).

“This authorization applies only to Class-3 On-Sale Licensees, and does not allow for any further expansion of the extended hours. Any abuse of the extension will not be tolerated,” the department said in the notice.
