The newly released 2006 Guam Phone Book includes a 22-page CNMI section, with the telephone numbers of select businesses in the Commonwealth.

Yellow Pages Ink, led by its general manager Julian T. Cooper-Nurse, paid a courtesy visit to the Office of the Governor yesterday afternoon and presented the 2006 Guam Phone Book to Gov. Benigno R. Fitial.

The governor welcomed the group and browsed through the Guam Phone Book and the CNMI section. He thanked the group for visiting and presenting the directory to his office.

Cooper-Nurse told Saipan Tribune that they decided to include the CNMI on the listings so that Guam residents who visit the CNMI could look through the CNMI business pages, and vice versa.

The 2006 Guam Phone Book is the 17th edition published by Yellow Pages Ink. Cooper-Nurse said his team would be distributing at least 5,000 copies of the phone book locally. They will be visiting different business establishments until Thursday.

“Guam and CNMI residents and businesses will now have one attractive resource combination for finding accurate telephone numbers, business addresses, and web sites. Vacationers, friends, and international buyers and sellers will easily be able to plan their trips, arrange hotel reservations, reserve rental cars scout out restaurants, and find enjoyable entertainment venues of all four islands,” said YPI.

January 2006 also marks the fourth year of YPI’s Internet phone book, with the website address www.guamphonebook.com. The Guam Phone Book has a true Internet Yellow Page system—one that combines the familiar look and feel of the printed Yellow Pages with a wide variety of interactive features.

YPI marketing consultant Doris Pangelinan said the CNMI would soon be added to the Internet version of the directory.

“All advertisers in the 2006 print book will have their ads in the Internet book,” said the company.
