Congratulations!

These are exciting times! Having lived on the island for nearly a quarter century and observing the unnerving derring-do and rampant abuse of most former CNMI governors—at a grave cost to our community—accolades go out to our newly elected Gov. Fitial.

Which former governor, in his right mind, would dare cut back on over-the-cap salaries and stipends and incompetent appointment of politicos to office and take over the boards of directors of agencies? His steadfastness and courage to stand and be counted, belief in just principals and to hold the line inspired the MVA to alter its deadwood leadership who did more posturing than performing.

Congratulations to newly appointed board members Tony Pelligrino and Jerry Tan. They will do the job and make MVA the force it can be to benefit all of us.
