Jam Shooters lose but continue to lead

PTI Jam Shooters lost to Destroyers but maintained its lead in the 2006 CNMI Billiard Spring Season Wednesday at Shooters Sports Bar.

The league leaders were shot down by the Destroyers, 7-6.5, but continued to lord it over the eight-team field with 84 accrued points.

Hyatt Pomec, for its part, assumed second place with 78 points after winning 7-4 against last place Ballers. Los Cabos fell to third, a point behind Pomec with 77 points after losing to fifth-place Pool Junkies, 9-5.5.

Destroyers and Pool Junkies are at fourth and fifth with 75 and 72 points, respectively. Navy Hill Boys remain in sixth place with 66.5 points following its 7-6 triumph over seventh-ranked Ballers II in the lone match held at Corner Pocket.

Ballers II and Ballers are in the cellar with 64.5 and 56 accrued points.

Shooters Sports Bar is one of the newest billiards venue on Saipan and boasts of six

billiards tables—two of which are of the nine-foot variety.

The CNMI Billiard League is organized and operated by the CNMI Billiard and Dart Association with direct help and services provided by AMPAC, Ltd. and Shooters Sports Bar & Grill.

The association is a non-profit organization set up and run for the billiard and dart players of the CNMI, with regular membership meetings to here the voices and concerns of the players and to schedule upcoming events. In related news, CNMI Billiard and Dart Association is reminding all members and non-member dart players, that there will be a blind draw dart tournament scheduled at Shooters Sports Bar every Saturday night beginning April 1 at 8pm. Entry fee is $5 and games are only $.50 per player.
