Twins hammer Hustlers, 6-1
Zachary Aldan was perfect at the plate and Steve Limes was menacing on the mound as the As Matuis Twins dealt the UMDA Hustlers a 6-1 loss on Sunday in the continuation of the Saipan Little League Baseball Association’s Major League action at Tan Ge Field.
Aldan put together a string of singles and drove in a run to go 4-for-4 on the day and second baseman Tony Camacho popped a pair of base hits while Limes kept the Hustlers at bay, by allowing a run off of two hits and fanning eight through six innings.
Centerfielder Vince Castro added an RBI single to help the Twins take down the green and yellow fellows, but the heart of the victory pumped profusely in the bottom of the third when the Twins went off for a five-run rally to break open the 1-1 tie.
MCDONALD’S 9, RED SOX 5
The Tenorio brothers worked together to turn the Red Sox blue on Sunday as they allowed just four hits and fanned 13 through six innings to keep McDonald’s smiling all the way to first place in the standings with a 9-5 win.
Peter fanned seven and gave up a hit through three scoreless innings while Patrick gave up five runs off of three hits through the final three to pick up the save. While they weren’t pitching, the Tenorios put on a hitting clinic for their fellow McNuggets as Peter went 3-for-4 with three singles and an RBI, while Patrick smacked a single and a double to go 2-for-3
PATRIOTS 6, BRAVES 3
Joseph Palacios did it all for the Patriots on the mound and at the plate as his red, white, and blue crew liberated the Tanapag Braves from their oppressive winning ambitions with a double-up 6-3 win at the Oleai Sports Complex.
Palacios gave up seven hits and fanned six through six innings from the hill and went 2-for-2 with a single, a double, and a run batted in for the Patriots, but he didn’t have to do all of the work.
Third baseman Joseph Rabauliman went 2-for-2 with a pair of three-baggers and three runs batted in while catcher Tony Salas smacked an RBI double in the bottom of the fourth for his lone hit in three at bats.
JUNIOR LEAGUE
PIRATES 9, OL’ACES 8
The Pirates beat the Ol’Aces in a thriller that came down to the final at bat as Ofero Taitano singled in Isaiah Lizama in the bottom of the seventh to put an end to a 9-8 thriller at Francisco M. Palacios Baseball Field on Sunday morning.
Taitano went 2-for-4 on the day with a pair of singles and the game winning RBI and added a win to his resume after coming in to relieve Joon Jones late in the game.
Teammate Donovan George did the same at the plate with a single and a triple and Jones went 4-for-5 to keep the Pirates in the game.
SENIOR LEAGUE
PIRATES 13, OL’ ACES 3
The Pirates scored a couple of wins by handing the Ol’Aces a couple of losses, but the Senior Leaguers looked to talented pitcher James Kintol to get it done at Tan Ko Field on Sunday afternoon at the Oleai Sports Complex.
Kintol was on fire as he fanned a dozen and allowed six hits through seven innings to get the win while his teammates picked up their swat sticks to generate plenty of power at the plate.
Third baseman Manny Ada hit an RBI single and cranked a two-run homerun, and A.J. Allen went 2-for-3 with a single, a double, and three ribbies, while catcher Pat Alepuyo did the same.
