1 week left to register with FEMA

Residents of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands have one week left to register for federal disaster assistance for damage from Typhoon Mangkhut and Super Typhoon Yutu.

The deadline to register with FEMA is Jan. 27, 2019.

A FEMA registration has a nine-digit number. If you do not have the nine-digit number, you are not registered for federal assistance.
Those who suffered impacts to their primary residences and have not registered with FEMA may do so either of three ways:
• On-line at DisasterAssistance.gov
• Call the FEMA Helpline at 1- (800) 621-3362
• Go to the Disaster Recovery Center (DRC)

The DRC located at the Multi-Purpose Center on Beach Road in Susupe, is open 9am to 6pm Monday through Friday, and 10am to 4pm on Saturday. Closed on Sunday.

The DRC will be closed on Monday, Jan 21, in observance of the Martin Luther King Jr, Holiday.

Please remember, applicants should have the following information at hand:
• Social Security number.
• Address of the damaged primary residence.
• Description of the damage.
• Information about insurance coverage if applicable.
• A current contact telephone number.
• An address where they can receive mail.
