2 in alleged sex abuse
Two men were arrested in the past two days for alleged sexual abuse of a minor in separate incidents on Saipan.
Jeffry Manarang Fernandez, 35, and Search Osilek Jr., 19, were both arrested with sexual abuse of a minor in the first degree.
At a bail hearing yesterday, the Superior Court imposed a $25,000 cash bail each on Fernandez and Osilek.
Police met with social workers with the Division of Youth Services last Monday and learned that a 14-year-old girl had reported that Fernandez allegedly touched her privates as she was sleeping in June 2016. Fernandez manages a hotel.
In Osilek’s case, a police officer met with DYS social workers and learned that a 15-year-old girl reported that Osilek allegedly raped her during the 2017 Christmas break.
Osilek reportedly admitted in a police interview to having had nonconsensual sex with the girl. (Ferdie de la Torre)
