Gas prices now at $5.85 to $6.70 on Rota and Tinian

Rota and Tinian motorists now pay anywhere between $5.85 and $6.70 a gallon, much higher than the $4.909 to $5.319 a gallon that their Saipan counterparts are paying. Overall, the CNMI has the highest gas prices among U.S. states and territories.

NetCare asked to settle unpaid death benefit claims

Acting CNMI Insurance Commissioner Ivan A. Blanco asked NetCare Life and Health/Moylan’s Insurance Underwriters to settle the claims due to survivors of its deceased clients who are also CNMI retirees, or the matter will have to be decided by a court.

Chamber urges governor not to sign zoning bill into law

The Saipan Chamber of Commerce has asked Gov. Benigno R. Fitial not to sign a local bill that makes massive changes to the Saipan Zoning Law of 2008 so that the “progress and improvements” made as a result of such law won’t go to waste.
