$20K bail imposed on man accused of assault

The Superior Court has imposed a $20,000 cash bail on a man accused of assaulting his partner.

Superior Court Associate Judge Joseph Camacho has imposed a $20,000 cash bail on Brian Lee, a man accused of assaulting his partner following a heated argument.

Lee, 26, is facing charges of assault and battery, assault, domestic violence, and disturbing the peace.

Following the bail hearing yesterday, Camacho remanded Lee back to Department Corrections custody.

According to court documents, at around 7:29pm on Dec.16, DPS responded to a female caller who was seeking police assistance as she feared her partner was going to cause trouble.

At the scene, police spoke with a bystander who led police to Lee and his partner who “needed to be separated” as the woman appeared to be scared.

On Dec. 17, police met with the woman again who told police that on Friday, Dec. 15, Lee dropped her off to a Christmas party and picked her up at around 1:30am.

She noted that as she approached the car, Lee was shouting from the inside.

The woman said on the way to their home, their argument eventually calmed down.

However, when they arrived home, she claims Lee assaulted her before she eventually fell asleep.

The next day, she said on the way to a nearby store, Lee mentioned that he would be going to see his mother because he was not happy with her.

Knowing his tendency to get physical and not wanting him to get into any more trouble, the woman asked someone at the store to call for police.

That same day, Lee was arrested and brought to DOC.
