CHCC has a new acting CFO
A new acting chief financial officer has been appointed for the Commonwealth Healthcare Corp.
The appointment of Eran Sheriff, Ph.D., was announced in a memorandum issued by CHCC chief executive officer Esther Muna on Nov. 23.
“He’s actually hired as a finance officer but he’s acting CFO now,” Muna said in an interview.
According to Muna, Sheriff started Monday.
The memo said that Sheriff has “an extensive education and experience in finance that would be a tremendous and much needed asset to our organization” and that he will be acting CFO “until further notice.”
With regards to being a full CFO, Muna said, “We’ll see.”
“I’m hoping that he will stay for a long time. I think he’s going to stay here for a long time,” Muna said.
The last CFO for CHCC was Jack Taitague who came onboard the hospital on June 2 last year. However, he resigned barely three months into the job.
The hospital hasn’t had a permanent CFO since Alvaro Santos resigned in 2012.
Cora Ada, who held the acting position for over a year now, will be returning and focusing on her main responsibility as project coordinator for the Hospital and Public Preparedness Program.
The memo thanked Ada for taking the helm as the acting and interim CFO and noting that she went out of her way, above and beyond her role and responsibilities.
Frances Pangelinan, who also helped with the position, will be returning to the management of Accounts Payable and Federal Grant reporting.
