Gov. Ralph DLG. Torres has designated the third Saturday of each May as CNMI Armed Forces Day during a proclamation signing last Thursday at the Office of the Governor.

The occasion was witnessed by special assistant for Military Affairs Glenna S. Palacios of the Commonwealth Bureau of Military Affairs; Capt. Kimberly Hofschneider, Indo-Pacific Command liaison officer to the CNMI; Sgt. Saili Tigilau and soldiers from the 100th Battalion Echo Company and the 302nd Quartermaster, along with other members of the community.

The proclamation acknowledges that the men and women of the Marianas have boldly answered the call to serve for generations. Right now, more than 1,000 Commonwealth residents are also service members and veterans. (Saipan Tribune)
