4 hospitalized in 2-vehicle crash in Puerto Rico

A traffic collision between a passenger bus and an SUV along Chalan Pale Arnold, just north of Sitong Auto Shop, left four individuals hospitalized yesterday afternoon.

According to the Department of Public Safety, the accident occurred at 12:41pm when a white Ford E350 bus, heading southbound in the outer lane, encountered an unexpected obstacle. According to preliminary investigations, the bus driver noticed an orange Mitsubishi Outlander parked on the southbound shoulder. As the bus approached, the Outlander suddenly pulled onto the highway, resulting in the collision.

The bus was reportedly carrying nine passengers and sustained significant impact. While most passengers escaped unscathed, the driver and the front passenger reported pain and were promptly transported to the Commonwealth Health Center for further medical evaluation. Fortunately, the remaining passengers did not report any injuries.

Occupants of the Outlander faced a more serious outcome. Both the driver and the front passenger were injured and taken to CHCC, where they are currently in stable condition. A rear passenger in the Outlander miraculously emerged from the crash without any injuries.

DPS urges drivers to exercise caution and remain vigilant on the roads to prevent such incidents, and wished community members a safe Liberation Day.
