The Superior Court on Friday ordered a contract worker deported at the conclusion of a labor case that began with a demand for payment of unpaid wages and culminated in a request for employment transfer.

Superior Court Judge John A. Manglona ordered Rodolfo Bautista deported to the Philippines and barred him from coming back to the CNMI for five years.

Bautista came to work in 1996 but was terminated a year later.

He filed a labor complaint, seeking payment for the remainder of his contract. He and the employer settled.

Later, he requested for employment transfer, but his time to search for a new employer wound up without him finding a job.

The Division of Labor ordered him to leave the CNMI on March 17 this year. He appealed and lost.

Bautista was arrested on July 9.
