A couple of tourists were attacked and robbed while relaxing at a wooden bench along the pathway on Beach Road Tuesday night, police said yesterday.

Rose Ada, Department of Public Safety spokeswoman, identified the victims as Kakuie Sasakura, 41, a Japanese; and Shu-Hong Lin, 33, a Chinese.

Both said they were clubbed in the head. Sasakura said the robber grabbed his bag, which contains cash, driving license and credit card, after the attack.

They described two of the attackers as skinny and dark and the rest as “big.”

The victims suffered injuries in the head and bruises in the arms.

In another case, Ada said a drive-by-shooting was reported in Dandan on Monday night. No one was hurt.

Ada said a 60-year-old man complained that his four-door Toyota Corolla was damaged by the shooting. The vehicle’s windows were shattered and holes were created in the body.

Police investigators said a 12-gauge shotgun was used.
