A resident of Garapan who attacked his neighbor with a knife was ordered to post $20,000 cash bail for his temporary release.

Roland Desebel Kapileo, 20, was arrested on charges of assault with a dangerous weapon, criminal mischief and disturbing the peace.

Police spokesperson Rose T. Ada yesterday said DPS received the disturbing the peace call last Wednesday morning.

Information gathered from the victims, Mohammed Shariful Alam and Mohammed Anwar Hossain, showed that Hossain was driving home using Alam’s vehicle when he was stopped by Kapileo who then punched the vehicles’ windshield and side windows.

Hossain immediately proceeded to Alam’s residence and informed him about the incident.

Ada said Alam hid in the house but the suspect went to the residence using the back door and threatened Alam with a knife.

The report did not give any details as to why Kapileo acted that way.

Superior Court Judge Juan T. Lizama set a $20,000 cash bail. He will return to court on Jan. 28 for a preliminary hearing.
