Marianas Cable Vision begins this month installing cable service to about 105 households in Kagman III following a request from Rep. David M. Apatang, chair of the House committee on Public Utilities, Transportation and Communications.

Company executives said they have been trying to meet customer demand in the area, but have met difficulties in recent months in putting up its service in Kagman due to the ongoing expansion plan of Commonwealth Utilities Corporation in the villages.

MCV has contracted another firm to help them keep up with the demand for cable service on the island, such as next day hook-up and same-day reconnections.

This week, the cable company expects to receive materials to complete the first half of phase I project, allowing them to provide service to at least 105 residence in the next few weeks.

“MCV’s goal is to complete the construction of cable services to the entire Kagman III by the end of this year,” said General Manager Joseph Butters in a letter to Apatang.

“(W)e need to wait for CUC to finish their work, before we may come in and construct the entire cable system in Kagman III,” he added.
