A power outage is scheduled on Saturday, March 20, between 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. in areas covering Mt. Carmel Church, Korean Catholic Church, Sugar Dock, Diego’s Mart and customers across from church heading east toward Susupe Lake. The power will remain off until 2 p.m. in areas north of the Korean Catholic Church to the Joeten Staff Housing. As the Commonwealth Utilities Corporation continues to improve the electrical system in Susupe and Chalan Kanoa, linemen will be working around the Mt. Carmel Church this Saturday. The utility is revamping the entire electrical system for the villages of Susupe and Chalan Kanoa. The project began in February and will continue throughout 1999. When the project is complete, customers will enjoin more reliable electrical services, a stronger system to withstand to withstand typhoons, and better voltage. While most of the work is completed on weekdays, the utility needs to install four new power poles in front of the Mt. Carmel School, and decommission six poles in that area. In order to keep school in session, this part of the project will be conducted this Saturday while school is out
Drug pusher gets
42 months in prison
Virgilio Ramirez Patubo, a Filipino, was sentenced to 42 months in prison by the U.S. District Court for his distribution of crystal metamphetamine or ice. He earlier pleaded guilty for the crime and is remanded to the custody of the U.S. Marshal after the court ordered his sentence yesterday. While serving his term, Patubo shall participate in drug treatment program approved by the Bureau of Prison.
