Minimum wage public hearing

The Industry Committee for Minimum Wage review will hold a public hearing this Thursday, May 13 at 7 p.m. at the Marianas High School Auditorium in Susupe.

The public is encouraged to attend and present any information that they wish the Committee to consider in its deliberations. The Committee will hold public hearings on Tinian and Rota as well. The Committee expects to make its report to the Legislature including its recommendations for the minimum wage by June 30, 1999.

Oral and written testimonies from any member of the community who wishes to make presentation will be accepted by the Committee. Written testimony may be submitted at the hearing or to the Governor’s Office not later than Tuesday, June 1. Oral testimony may be presented at the hearing and will be limited to five minutes.

Members of the Committee include Susan Briola, chairperson; Dave Tollestrup, vice chairman; and Annabelle Atalig, Kenneth King, David Igitol and Richard Pierce, members.
