Relay for Life

The American Cancer Society local chapter will hold its kick-off rally for its Relay for Life project on June 11, Friday, between 5 PM to 7 PM at the Pacific Islands Club. Refreshments and prizes will be made available during the event which aims to get the chapter organized and identify volunteers for committee of the ACS signature event. Certificate of recognition

In recognition of your service during the period of Cold War (September 2, 1941-December 26, 1991) in promoting peace and stability for this nation, the People of this nation is very grateful.

To be eligible for this certificate we ask all veterans to bring you DD Form 214 to the Office of the Division of Veterans Affairs at As Lito in JTV Building and the Veterans Affairs staff will prepare your application.

USAFVA meeting

This is to inform all members of the US Armed Forces Veterans Association that there is a meeting this coming Thursday, June 10,1999 at the Division of Veterans Affairs Office at 6:30 PM. All members are requested to attend. Others interested in joining are also invited to attend. Please bring a copy of your DD214.

NEH Summer Stipends

The NEH Summer Stipends award up to $40,000 to support two-months of full-time work on projects that will make a significant contribution to the humanities is now available.

Application deadline is Friday, October 1, 1999.

Tenure must cover two full and uninterrupted months and will normally be held between May 1, 2000 and September 30, 2000.

Applicants need not have advanced degrees but neither a candidate for degrees nor persons seeking support for work toward a degree are eligible to apply for fellowships and summer stipends.

Reviewers consider the significance of the proposed project to the humanities, the quality of the applicant’s work, the conception and description of the project, and likelihood that the work will be accomplished.
