Braves captures pennant and championship title

A jammed pack crowd at the Palacios field saw the 1999 Senior League Pennant Champion Tanapag Braves edging their arch rival power house Dandan Jets 9-8 in an extra inning ball game Saturday at the Palacios field.

Jimmy Aliksa plated in Tyrone Phillip in the bottom of the eighth for the games winning run. it was the Braves 9 straight win without a loss including the Post and Final game of the year.

Jeremiah Suel, the Regula and finals MVP led the Braves tomahawk chop with 3 hits and scored twice in the winning efforts. Billy Camacho, Ray Dela Cruz and Jesse Aguon led the balance Jets attack all with 2 hits a piece. The Jets loss came only from the hands of the Braves in the season opener back in February 28 by a score of 5-4.

Starz is Big League’s pennant champ The Pennant Champ San Vicente Starz behind all-star catcher Len Maratita’s 4 hits and 5 runs batted in proves to be the key for the Starz success in the finals aas they edge out the San Roque Expos 10-9 in one of the most dramatic baseball fashions for the league’s Big League Championship crown on the second game of the day.

Lefty Tito Santos in relief of Josh Muna who was very impressive on the mound to seal the game and title. In their first match-up on May 22, the Expos edged Starz in the bottom of the 7th, 3-2 and in the Pennant drive on May 31, the Starz avenged back and defeated the Expos also in the last inning by a score of 4-3.

Robert Bansil, the League’s batting king, assures everyone that he is the King as he ripped 3 hits in the losing efforts. Muna is the ERA Champion and earned the win while Santos credited with the save. He is the 1999 strikeout king with 68 overall. For Manager Tino Camacho of the Expos year 2000 will be a differrrent Northern
San Roque Expos and assured the District Administrator that secret arsenal weapon is about to be born. Manager Frankie Torres and Head Coach Jerome Salas responded back and greeted Camacho and informed him personally that Robert Bansil will be in Starz uniform next season with a big smile.
