The Philippine Consulate in the CNMI will hold its 101th Independence Day celebration tomorrow.
Various activities have been lined up commencing with the the flag raising ceremony at the Nauru Park in the morning.
In the afternoon, the traditional Vin d’ Honneur will follow at the Aqua Resort with a formal luncheon buffet.
At 7:00 PM., a showcase of Filipino talents will be shown at the Pacific Castle for the Filipiniana 2000 Variety Show.
On Sunday, the yearly get-together at the Kilili Beach will be held from 10:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Relay for Life
The American Cancer Society local chapter will hold its kick-off rally for its Relay for Life project today, between 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Pacific Islands Club. Refreshments will be served and prizes will be given during the event. The local chapter of ACS will be organized and volunteers for committee of the ACS signature event will be identified. Certificate of recognition
Veterans will receive certificates of recognition for their service during the Cold War period (Sept. 2, 1941-Dec. 26, 1991) for promoting peace and stability of the nation.
All veterans are asked to bring their DD Form 214 to the Office of the Division of Veterans Affairs at the JTV Building in As Lito. The Veterans Affairs staff will prepare the application.

Violin performance at the Museum
The June musical salon sponsored by the Friends of the Arts will feature Deborah Fisher with performance of classical violin music on June 13 at the rotunda of the Commonwealth Museum.
Held at the museum every second Sunday of the month, the FOA takes pride in sponsoring informal afternoons featuring Saipan’s professional and amateur musical talents. The salons are open to the public and take place inside the museum from 2:00 PMto 4:00 PM
There is no admission fee for members of the Friends of the Arts and Friends of the Museum.
Admission fee for non-members is $3 and $1 for students. Children under 12 years old and adults over 54 years old are admitted free.
